Data Preloading

We can preload presentations, product catalogues or any other promotional materials you desire. Whether it be to supply important data to your clients or just to reinforce your company message, preloading your custom USB flash drives with data is an excellent concept. A Flash Drive is a purely a data storage device so we can preload any type of data. Here are some examples of files our customers have asked us to preload in the past:

How to get your data to us?

• Send by email : if the data is below 20MB in size you can email it straight to your Genton sales contact. Please send the data in a single .zip folder
• Provide link to download: If the data is too big to email (e.g. more than 20MB) then you can provide us a link from which we can download it if you have access to your own web space. The link should be to a single zip folder containing the data. Some customers prefer to give us login details to an ftp location from which to download the data - this is acceptable.
• Don't have any web space? Genton can provide you some instructions on how to upload your data to our ftp server.
• Send by post: You can post us the data on a CD, DVD or USB flash drive. Please send to our mailing address:

 What format should the data be in?

If you are sending the data by email, ftp or providing a download link, then data should be provided as one .zip folder. After recipt, we will unzip the folder and add the resulting contents onto each flash drive. This way the data will retain the same folder structure the sender intended. If you are sending the data by post on a CD, DVD or flash drive then there is no need to zip the data.

Non-Erasable Contents

We can also place a file on the USB flash drive and make it non-earable. This function is very useful when you want the contents never removed by the end users, such as marketing materials and catalogues.

Autorun

The end users may ignore the preloaded files even they are non-erasable, but with autorun function, they can't be igonore any more! The files we preload will automatically run each time the user inserts the USB flash drive in the USB port. The company website can pop up upon request.

Logo Autorun

With logo autorun function, the chosen logo will appear on the computer screen when the USB flash drive is inserted into the computer.After a couple of seconds the logo will disappear, then the USB flash drive can be used under normal conditions. With this unique feature, an instant reminder of your company is provided each time the end users use the flash drive to transfer files or back up documents.

Custom Icon

Instead of having the text "removable drive x" displayed in the drive letter window, we can have your logo set as drive icon. When the USB flash drive is interted in a computer, the window of the USB drive will appear on the screen with your logo as drive icon.

Data can be stored in an encrypted partition with password protection, at the same time, a public partition can be accessed for all users.

Unique ID

A pre-configured unique serial number can be preloaded onto each individual drive for software protection, dongle replacement, software activation, membership token, access control, and other security/identification purposes.

Private Data Area

A hidden data area not visible to the users can securely store information. Specific application includes storing password and other very personal information.This function also needs to be supported by our utility software.
